English Language Learners
Welcome Letter
English
Hello Parents/Guardians,
My name is Mrs. Gama. I am the ESL teacher here at Marseilles Elementary school. This letter is to inform you of the ESL program that your child is in.
Marseilles is a Transitional Program in English – Collaboration. This means that ESL students are placed in classes with students that are non-ESL. Core classes are taught in English, but I push in/ pull out to help with instruction. Push in means I go into the classroom and assist the student in certain subjects. Pull out means that I take your student out of class for a certain period of time each day.
Scores on the WIDA Screener and ACCESS testing determines which students are getting pulled throughout the day. This can change from semester to semester. I collaborate with your student’s teacher to make sure all standards are being met. ESL strategies are used with students to make sure state standards are being met.
If you have any questions please let me know via email: bgama@mes150.org

Hola padres/tutores
Mi nombre es Sra. Gama.
