One of our students found a crayfish in the yard this morning. Her dogs found it first and then her Dad went out to see what they were barking about. He saw it was a crayfish. They brought it inside and decided to take it to school to see if someone would want to adopt it.
Students in Mrs. Smith's class started doing some serious research on Crayfish. They learned that it was a female because of the patterns on it's back. It eats vegetables, algae, fish, and shrimp. They found that crayfish like to live in ponds, lakes, rivers and muddy places. There are all different colored crayfish in the world.
We are happy to report that "Aubrey" the crayfish has found a home with Mr. Clark in the Junior High Science Room.
