Hi, my name is Amy Kelley, and I grew up in Marseilles and went to school here until my sophomore year in high school, when we consolidated with Ottawa Township High School in 1990. My undergraduate degree is in journalism, and I worked in this field, as well as in bookkeeping, prior to returning to school for education.
I lived in Chicago most of my adult life, before returning to Marseilles after earning my master's degree in education from DePaul University several years ago. As someone very passionate about the environment, I also recently obtained my master's degree in environmental education through Concordia University/Portland. My fifth-grade class here at MES is responsible for collecting the school's recycling, and we also enjoy planning, plotting, nurturing and harvesting from our school garden.
I enjoy reading, writing, bike riding, yoga, and nature. I love being outdoors; you may notice I walk or ride my bike to and from school throughout the year. I feel lucky to work with such great adults - and students - here at MES!
