Mr. Roumi's Faculty Page

Hello MES Family and welcome to my Faculty Page. My name is Bejan Roumi and I have the privilege of teaching some of our Second grade students here at MES. I'm a part of an amazing Second grade team that teaches our Second graders how to better read and comprehend nonfiction texts, write in cursive, and improve their math foundations for multiplication and division in Third grade.

I am from the local area and grew up in Ottawa. I graduated from Marquette High School, then went on to Illinois Valley Community College, and finished with Northern Illinois University (Go Huskies!). I came here to Marseilles Elementary school the following fall after my spring graduation in 2016. I have also earned my Masters Degree in Education Leadership-Principal Endorsement from Aurora University. It is a great pleasure to work in a community like Marseilles. I very much enjoy being involved with our school and local community events!

Some of you may have heard of the students refer to me as the "Super Hero Teacher." I am known for my love of comic books and super heroes, in general. Often my class will be seen wearing capes and super hero costumes as a reward for hard work in the class room. I am a very energetic individual with a silly side. It is a lot of fun to be able to dress up and talk in silly voices while teaching this grade level. I enjoy seeing the students get excited to be at school and to learn. I try my best to make school an adventure for them as they continue their educational journey!
