I have been involved in education for 16 years. I have been a 7th grade ELA educator for the past 11 years at Marseilles Elementary and I absolutely LOVE everything about our school community! My educational philosophy has been and always will be teaching whole child education. My students are humans first and students second. I firmly believe building relationships within the classroom is the key to success. I believe in student choice, technology integration to enhance learning, applying standards to real-world scenarios, creation over consumption, messy learning, and having fun along the way. I am still learning and growing in all areas of my life and strongly believe in a growth mindset that transcends into the classroom. In the end, I want my students to be kind individuals who don’t fear failure and who are empowered to make an impact in their world.
I love spending time with my husband, my two sons, my daughter and her family, and friends. My hobbies include reading, blogging, running, and watching sports. I am a huge Cowboys fan and I love baseball and tennis. I believe in living life to the fullest.
